My Family

I grew up in Southern California where I attended California Baptist University in Riverside, CA. While at Cal Baptist I played soccer and softball. I graduated with a degree in Kinesiology and went on to complete my teaching credential at Cal Poly Pomona.

This year, I begin my 29th year of teaching. Wow, it sounds like a long time, but it has gone so fast. There is nothing I would rather do than teach and no other place I would rather be than Diamond Canyon. Go Coyotes!!!

My family is everything to me. I am married with three daughters, two grandchildren and a chocolate lab named Charlie. We love to hang out, swim, play games and watch movies.

PE Requirements

Students are required to wear PE clothes during the activity portion of the class. This includes a Diamond Canyon T-shirt, appropriate athletic shorts, socks and athletic shoes that are tied properly. If the student has a DC shirt from a previous year that fits there is no need to purchase a new one. The shirts will be sold by Diamond Canyon PTA. If there is a financial please let me know and we can work together to find a solution.
Students are required to do absent make-up work when they miss PE class.
Students who are excused from any physical activity in class will be required to do a written assignment.
Students are required to participate in all activities both inside the classroom and out on the field to the best of their ability.
Students are required to treat all school personnel, other students and visitors with respect.
Students are required to come to class with a positive attitude, ready to learn, have fun and positively impact all those they encounter.

Absent/Make-Up Work

When a student is absent they are unable to receive their dress and participation points. They are given the opportunity to do an absent make-up essay to receive all four points. An absent make-up essay requires the student to write a ½ page essay on any topic that is related to health or PE. Sample topics are: history of a sport, a description of a game they have watched, the rules of a sport, or any of the health topics listed above. The absent make-up essays are due one week from the date the student returns from the absence and must be written in the student's own words. Plagiarism is not allowed.
