Mr. Ternes
This year will mark my 22nd year of teaching elementary Physical Education. In summer 2017 my wife and I decided to fulfill a dream of ours and move to Arizona. I am very happy to start my 5th year at Diamond Canyon. I will teach K-6 PE at Diamond Canyon and am an assistant baseball coach at Boulder Creek high school. I am looking forward to this new school year!
I live in Anthem with my wife Jennifer and 3 children Kate (Sophomore at NAU), Easton (Senior at BC) and Isaac (8th grade at DC).
Here is a little info on my education and teaching experiences.
I attended Pittsburg State University in Pittsburg, KS. While at Pitt State I earned a BS in Physical Education with am emphasis in Coaching in 2001. In 2016 I received a Masters in Coaching and Athletic Administration from Concordia University-Irvine.
I started my teaching career in 2001 at Lowman Hill Elementary in Topeka KS. I taught K-5 elementary PE. During this time I was an assistant high school football coach for 2 years and head JV baseball coach for 6 years. In 2007 I excepted a position at Royal Valley USD and became their K-4 PE teacher and Head High School Baseball Coach. I spent the 10 year teaching and coaching at RV.
I enjoy working out, playing and coaching baseball and spending time with my family. We are excited to explore and see what Arizona has to offer!!
